We will read and discuss the story Bunny Cakes by Rosemary Wells. We will notice how the character Max tries to communicate in writing that he wanted red hot marshmallow squirters from the grocer. Since Max is younger than we are, he drew a picture. We will draw pictures, but we will also write words to communicate a message. We talked about writing like a kindergartner. We know that we can write words, but we may not do it like an older student or parent or teacher. We will write like kindergartners! Mrs. Durant and Mrs. Stefango will help us learn to say words aloud, listen for sounds and connect those sounds to letters. Take a look at how we worked together to write red hot marshmallow squirters just like kindergartners! (Pictures coming soon)
